Miami Beach

I had the.best.time at Miami.  It was beyond perfect weather and just what the doctor ordered.  It was fun going on a beach trip with girlfriends that wanted to do "beachy" things.  I usually end up at the pool by myself when I am with David.  I will be back for sure!

Loving life.

Love running on the beach.

We found a library!  We are teachers after all...
The start of a fun evening!

Another teacher from our school!

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N!

Last night there was a big snow storm in Indy.  Thank goodness that I no longer live there, because I just can't take looking at snow anymore.  We still have the gross piles leftover from our storm a few weeks ago and I can't stand it.  However, none of that really matters because...I am finally out of here and on to warm weather!  I am heading down to Miami with a friend and can not wait.  We are going with two of her friends and it should be a great adventure.  Isn't it fun when you just know you are about to make memories?!  Ok, that was corny.... I am so excited to be going on a vacation though!

MCM - The Crazy Aftermath.

Another blast from the past post...

Getting home from the marathon was insane.  David wanted me to leave the day of the marathon when we heard others were leaving.  He had rented a car the day we got there just in case.  He was able to pick it up that day and thought we should just leave.  My friend Kathy decided to leave that day and we all turned into emotional wrecks.  I just couldn't figure out the best decision.  I could either drive back with David, or wait until I could fly home.

I decided to drive with David (at least 14 hours) home.  I needed to wait till the day after the race though.  I just couldn't leave that night.  So, we woke up at 5:00 and left.  For anyone who knows me well, they know I do not go on car rides over 5 hours.  So, this was a mentally and emotionally trying time for me.  Surprisingly, I made it though!  My body felt A-W-F-U-L though!!

I decided to stay home one more day of school that Tuesday.  I just was not back emotionally or physically yet and didn't want to go back.  When I did go back, I came into my room to the sweetest signs.  My class was so worried about me.  "High Fives for Mrs. Barnett!"

All in all, the marathon was totally side barred because of the marathon.  I can not wait for a "do-over" with the Chicago marathon in the fall!

Weekend Trip

You may remember that David and I were going to go to Kohler, WI for our anniversary weekend, but plans fell through at the last minute.  We were able to re-schedule the visit and went last weekend.  It turned into somewhat of a last horray before school started!
The hotel was gorgeous and the whole weekend turned out to be very relaxing.  We mainly just took things easy and had some nice meals together.  We did go to the beach (Lake Michigan) and up to Green Bay to see the Packer's Stadium.  It was only an hour north, so we decided we needed to go when we had the chance!

They were known for these chocolates...even Oprah likes them!

It was the home of the Kohler factory.

The hotel.

It was like an old mansion.

SUPER yummy ice cream.

Champagne toast!

You can't see, but we found this on a walk.  It was Grace St. and School St.  Right up my ally!

One of the golf courses.

The factory.

Yes, we took a tour!  It was actually fun!

Another golf course where we ate dinner...this picture does not do it justice!!

Me with the chocolates.

A dessert we ordered, Baked Wisconsin, soooooooooo good!

It was so nice to get away for the weekend.  It reminded me that we need to do things like this more often!
