Sports!

David and I went to two sports events in a week.  First, we went to the Blachhawks game.  I do not really know how hockey is played or anything like that, but I love going to the games!  We had pretty cool seats.  We have sat close before, but you can not see anything and are looking back and forth.  With these seats, you could see everything.  We had fun!

The second game we went to was in this exotic place called Milwaukee.  Have you heard of it?!  I had been wanting to swim in a hotel pool so badly.  I mentioned it frequently.  When I heard that Notre Dame was playing in Milwaukee on a Saturday, I knew it was my opportunity.  We drove up (only takes around an hour and a half!) and got tickets outside.  Then, we went to a bar that got SUPER crowded.  The game was totally awful.  But, then the best part happend, we spent the rest of the day at the hotel!! The next day, we made two pit stops at the cheese castle and Nike outlet.  All in all a good weekend!

Since when did my head get so big?

Can not explain how much I love this popcorn.

David was done taking pictures.  I wanted to show you some of "the castle" though!

Notre Dame

I need to take a pause from blogging about MCM and turn to Notre Dame.  If you know us, you know how big of a fan David is.  This season has been David's dream come true.  I have found him watching clips on YouTube and looking up articles non-stop.  He is currently at the game and I am terrified for him.  I am not watching (I never know what goes on anyways) but I am keeping up with the score.  Say a prayer for me...it's not looking good!

ABC Dates - A - Applefest

I am attempting to have David go on different dates that start with the letter of the alphabet.  I am not so sure we will ever get past A though.  We shall see!  It could be fun...

For our "A" date we went to the Long Grove Applefest.  We went last year and had a lot of fun.  They had apple cinnamon donughts that are soooo stinking good.  David saw a bacon-wrapped hot dog and had to try it.  He tried to be a little healthy though by asking to leave the cheese off of it...

Butterflies.

This summer I spent a lot of time at The Chicago Botanic Garden.  It is close to my house and we are members.  My favorite thing was to go there in the morning and sit outside eating their oatmeal.  I did homework there and went there for fun.  They had a butterfly exhibit that we visited.  There were two butterflies that stayed on David and I the whole time!

Laundry...

I know I have posted about this before, but had to share these pictures.  I feel like ALL I do is laundry!!  Last weekend, I finally caught up with two weeks worth of laundry.  Below is the large pile that came from it.  I officially need a house-wife to help me.

Two Years!

Mr. Barnett and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary on June 26th.  I feel like the years are just going to fly by.  It was a Tuesday and David had to work.  He came home a little early and we took a trip to Tiffanys to get a little something.  After that, we decided to stay North and ate at Di Pescara which was very yummy.  We decided not to get dessert, because we knew we needed some sort of s'more.  We ended up going to McDonald's for one of their s'more pies.  Oh boy, it was good!

I will get sappy here...  What would I do without my David?  We have been in each other's lives for 10 years and it was truly meant to be.  If you asked me why I went out to Arizona for school, I really don't have a true answer.  I now know that the answer was to meet David.  I am a firm believer when things are meant-to-be.  I love the history that we have together, the fact that we know everything about each other, and the life we have built as The Barnetts.  I can not wait to see what the future brings for us.

TERESA!

Okay, so it is totally possible you do not know who this lady is.  If you lived in our home, you would though.  Reality is king with me and one of my favorite shows is Real Housewives of New Jersey on Bravo.  On that show is a housewife, Teresa Guidicce.  She is nuts, but super entertaining.  Along with being a reality star, she has written a few cookbooks.

A few weeks ago, David saw on Twitter that she was coming into town to promote one of her cookbooks!  He called me excitedly (I'm being serious) and said that we had to go.  We waited in line for awhile and had fun.  We even saw a Mob Wives of Chicago star, even though I'm not so into that one (shocking, I know!)  It was crazy seeing her in person, she was nice!

 The Mob Wife, Leah??

BFF's! ; )

Mini Golf.

David and I have found a new past time, mini golf.  Crazy, right?!  We went one day on a whim and halfway through the course, David got mad at me and told me it was time to take it seriously.  I have never been very talented or able to concentrate on any sport...especially sports involving balls (according to David!)  So, I usually just have fun and don't care.  However, after I actually tried, I got a hole in one!  We have been hooked since.  We have been trying out different courses, and I have managed to get at least one hole in one at each place.  I have tied David, but never beat him.  I think I will secretly not beat him just to save his ego.  That will be our secret though!

David's Birthday

Since I am officially an awful blogger, I am going to take you back to May to catch you up to our lives.  At the end of May, David officially joined me and turned 29.  I can not believe next year we will both be 30.  I am not sure why, but that seems so surreal!

His birthday was on a Friday, so we celebrated all weekend.  On Friday night, we went out to Sunda and David ate sooooo much.  I was a little afraid for the drive home, truthfully.  We made it though!

On Saturday, we met some of his family and friends at Dave and Busters.  For some reason, they love playing those games!  We had a fun time, except that David lost his wedding ring while playing the basketball game.  Luckily, we got it back!

What should we do next year for the big one??

Spring Break

Well, I have been so tied up in my "money cleanse" lately that I have forgotten to post about our lives!

A couple weeks back we had my spring break.  We did not go anywhere because we are in the midst of this fun time of saving money...blah!  I did have a good break though!  I was able to see lots of friends, The Hunger Games, The Lorax (I'm a teacher), go to the Kenosha outlets, and spend a day with David downtown.  We were going to spend the night, but the hotel was super sketchy so we just decided to go home!  I would have preferred being somewhere warmer...but it was a good break!

Locked Out...

David and I planned on going to a 40th birthday party for a friend of his.  The party promised to be tons of fun and David was excited to go.  On the night of the party (we did something during the day...can't remember what right now!) we were all ready to go and started walking out as usual.  I am in the habit of locking the door from the inside because I always have my keys, and assume David does when I do not and he is driving.  Well, big mistake!  David wanted to go back in for something as soon as we left, and we realized we were locked out.  Not only were we locked out, we didn't have any car keys and were stuck.  If you know my husband, you know that he went crazy.  I had to be the calm one and figure out what to do!  I first looked up a you-tube on how to open your door with a credit card.  This is not so easy and we had zero luck!  Then, we decided that we could call a cab to get us there.  The problem with that was that we had to count on my brother to be home to let us in when we got there.  This was tough because he was at a casino in Indiana and was not so nice about trying to get home soon.  We decided to call the cab anyways, but I thought of just calling a lock-smith while we were waiting.  To sum it up, we went with the lock-smith because we would be able to get back in after.  We ended up showing up to the party about 2 hours late, but they hadn't even eaten dinner yet!  The night turned out fine and we even got Uggs as party gifts!  It was definitely a memory...Enjoy the pictures of David mad at the bottom of the stairs, and me silently mocking him!

Mr. Barnett

Okay...here comes the attempt at catching up!  I know I will not hit everything that is going on, but will try my best!
I talk about David in my first grade classroom all the time.  They love hearing about what Mr. Barnett is doing and what he likes.  We have a mystery reader that comes in every Friday after lunch.  It is one of the students' parents or family members and they read the class a book or two and then leave.  They get a kick out of it.  Not long ago, they started asking when Mr. Barnett was coming.  I never thought of asking him, but it sounded fun!  I then promised them that Mr. Barnett would come in sometime...but it would be a secret.

In February he came and the class was thrilled. It was adorable to watch. He read them a few "No, David" books and we explained that his name was David. It was fun for him to get a glimpse of what my life is like everyday!
