Love This.

I came across this after the horrific events at Sandy Hook.  I have kept it and look at it from time to time.  I love my job.

100th Day of School

We recently had the 100th day of school.  In the past, we have dressed up to be 100 years old.  I was ready for something new - I always looked so gross in my costume.  I came across something that suggested having a "Royal Celebration"  I instantly knew that we had to do that.  We dressed as Royalty.  Each of my students came with a costume and looked beyond adorable.  We had a fun day!

I'm in!

It's official.  I signed up for the Chicago Marathon yesterday!  It was a crazy race to get in, but I made it!

I have been really thinking about if I should do this race.  I  have a timeline in my head about how I want my life to go in the coming months/years and a fall race fits in there perfectly.  Although a marathon is so SO hard, I have forgotten all of that and want to try another one.  I wanted to do Chicago because I loved training with my group (the training is geared for the Chicago Marathon) so much.  I also loved the idea of the "hometown" race.  I went back and forth because I wanted family and friends to run with me.  Ultimately, I decided to do what I wanted to do and this was it!

I decided to run as a charity runner this year for Girls on the Run.  I love the organization so much and wanted to do my part to help out.  If you want to donate, please visit my charity website!

Here I go again!

Cleanse??

This weekend I decided that I was going to do a cleanse.  As you know, I eat healthy and work out most days a week.  Lately, I have been feeling like I can not loose anything.  Therefore, I thought the answer was a cleanse!  I had never done one before, but picked Dr. Oz's two day detox because I felt like he knows what he is doing.

I bought all the things and was excited to try.  I took my breakfast of quinoa with prunes down like a champ.

The juice snack did not sound appetizing, so I moved straight to the smoothie lunch.  I didn't like the flaxseed, but took it all down also.

In the afternoon I started to get pretty hungry and had a headache.  I decided that eating an apple and some pineapple wouldn't hurt.

Then, I needed to try to make the juice.  It was S-I-C-K.  At this point I was fading fast with my determination to finish the cleanse.

At around 6 I was going to make my dinner of vegetable broth.  I went to the kitchen.  Looked at the ingredients.  And Q-U-I-T!!  There was just no way.  I had gave it my best try.

How did my day end?  With frozen pizza.

Lesson learned: Don't do a cleanse!

Chili

Chili is my version of a dog. She waits for me to wake up in the morning and follows me around throughout the day. She is always there to greet me when I come home. I say that I am her BFF. However, I think I need her just as much...
