Wedding!

David's brother, Philip, got married over Labor Day weekend.  We had a blast at the wedding.  I ran 18 miles on Saturday (wedding was on Sunday) but felt great.  I did have a malfunction with my dress and had to get sewn in.  It was quite the experience.  Thankfully, I am getting a full refund for it!  I did not take many pictures, I am excited to see more!  Congratulations Philip and Melissa!!

Laundry...

I know I have posted about this before, but had to share these pictures.  I feel like ALL I do is laundry!!  Last weekend, I finally caught up with two weeks worth of laundry.  Below is the large pile that came from it.  I officially need a house-wife to help me.

Frustrated.

Hi Friends, hope you are enjoying your Sunday night!  It is back to school for me next week, but I'm not so sad.  I'm ready to be back on a schedule and excited to meet my kids.  Plus, I have another student teacher which is great!

I have several items I want to update you on, but only have a few minutes.  Therefore, I will let you know why I am frustrated today.

As you know, I am training for a marathon.  I have had knee problems and hot hot weather, but have managed to keep training throughout the summer.  Yesterday I ran my longest run yet.  I was supposed to do 16 miles and ended up doing closer to 17.  It was HARD but made me so excited because I now believe I can do a full marathon.  After the run yesterday I was exhausted and had a super upset stomach (this sometimes happens to runners, but usually not me)  I spent the day in my bed sleeping on and off and spending time in the bathroom (don't want to give you tmi...)  The only thing getting me through the day was thinking that when I woke up the next morning and weighed myself, I would be skinnie-minnie.  WELL, that is why I am FRUSTRATED!  I woke up this morning and...drumroll...I had GAINED weight!!  WTF?!  Bodies are so so confusing.  I feel like a fatty and hate that I spent 3 hours of running yesterday and ended up gaining weight.  Blah blah blah.  Had to put it out there.  Now, I'm going to get over it!  Thanks for letting me vent.

It's official!!

It's official, we have moved into our new home!!  It is so nice to be in a place that I know is ours and that we will stay for a long long time.  I have a long "to-do" list that will have to wait for the future.  Surprisingly, I am okay with that.  The move went smoothly, but the last weeks have been just a bit hectic.  We replaced all of the carpet, re-finished the floors, landscaped, and got new kitchen appliances.  I also went to a 4 day First Grade conference, which was a great experience but definitely bad timing.  Oh well, I always say I like to be busy, right?!

 The night before the move
Paige and David...they did this the entire time!

Freedom Run

I went home to Indy for the 4th of July.  I got to see a lot of my girlfriends, my family, and relax.  It was a great time!  One of the things I did was run a race with Kathy.  We have run the Freedom Run in Carmel before and decided to do it again.  It is a 4.5 mile race that takes place before the parade.  If you were in the mid-west for the 4th, you know that it was sooo hot.  Therefore, the race wasn't so comfortable, but we had a great time!  I love running with my friends.  Plus, we got a medal, which made it all worth it!

Two Years!

Mr. Barnett and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary on June 26th.  I feel like the years are just going to fly by.  It was a Tuesday and David had to work.  He came home a little early and we took a trip to Tiffanys to get a little something.  After that, we decided to stay North and ate at Di Pescara which was very yummy.  We decided not to get dessert, because we knew we needed some sort of s'more.  We ended up going to McDonald's for one of their s'more pies.  Oh boy, it was good!

I will get sappy here...  What would I do without my David?  We have been in each other's lives for 10 years and it was truly meant to be.  If you asked me why I went out to Arizona for school, I really don't have a true answer.  I now know that the answer was to meet David.  I am a firm believer when things are meant-to-be.  I love the history that we have together, the fact that we know everything about each other, and the life we have built as The Barnetts.  I can not wait to see what the future brings for us.

Hit an Om Run!

I love running and working out clothes.  I often call myself a "stunner" (stylish-runner) (please don't laugh.)  One of my very favorite workout stores is Lululemon.  It's seriously like they put crack in the clothes.  I can even smell their store from inside the mall before I get to it.  The problem is, it's not too easy on the checkbook.  Luckily, David understands and I try not to go in too often.

Lulu was opening a new store on State Street right by Wrigley Field.  To celebrate the opening, they decided to hold a free yoga session on the actual field!  All you needed to do was RSVP, and they took the first 1000 people.  I HAD to do it.  David couldn't believe they were letting us on the field and was very jealous, which made me want to do it even more.  I had my friend Lauren, who is a yoga expert, come with me.  We had seriously THE BEST time.  They had 2 hours of free yoga, free mats, a fun 7th inning stretch dance party, and even breakfast.  I don't think I will forget this one!
