Mr. Barnett

Okay...here comes the attempt at catching up!  I know I will not hit everything that is going on, but will try my best!
I talk about David in my first grade classroom all the time.  They love hearing about what Mr. Barnett is doing and what he likes.  We have a mystery reader that comes in every Friday after lunch.  It is one of the students' parents or family members and they read the class a book or two and then leave.  They get a kick out of it.  Not long ago, they started asking when Mr. Barnett was coming.  I never thought of asking him, but it sounded fun!  I then promised them that Mr. Barnett would come in sometime...but it would be a secret.

In February he came and the class was thrilled. It was adorable to watch. He read them a few "No, David" books and we explained that his name was David. It was fun for him to get a glimpse of what my life is like everyday!

I'm D-O-N-E!!!!!!!

I am done done done!!  I can not explain how thrilled I am to finally be done with my National Board portfolio.  I still have to take a test in June and do not hear my results until November.  There is a 50 - 75 perect fail rate for the first time, so we will just have to see!  It will stink after all those hours and hours and hours to fail.

How did I celebrate?  By applying for another Masters program!  Yep, I am crazy.  I can't wait to catch you up on my life and have spring break next week to do that!

Blog on Pause...

Hi Friends,


I am currently out of my mind with National Board work, running training, professional development planning, report card writing, first grade teaching, and everything in between.  Therefore, I am formally putting my blog on pause.  I know, you are groaning now because you love hearing about my life.  I love to write, but need to focus all my extra time on these fun things.  I have been neglecting my blog, and decided to make it a formal neglect. : ( 


My National Board entry is due March 31st.  My goal is to have it done by March 20th.  Hopefully, I will see you all sometime after that.  Do not worry, I will catch you up on my life when I return! ; )

Kathy Griffin.

If you know me, you know I love Kathy Griffin.  David does also.  We have been to see her a few other times, and had to go when she was in Chicago.  It was so much fun and hilarious!  We went out to Joe's Stone Crabs before (not Joe's Crab Shack...) and then went to the show.  She was funny as usual and had great reality gossip.  It was a fun date night!


It got me thinking...what was my top 5 celebrities?  It was hard to come up with, but below is my list in no special order!

Winner!!

This post is a little overdo...


I participated in my first fantasy football league last fall.  I completely failed, in fact I think I got last place.


Although, life was different this year!  I won the whole thing!  I have to admit, David kept better track of everything and usually put my line up in.  However, I actually helped this year and am confident that was the difference!  ; ) 


The best part...I got a trophy!  I get to keep this gem for a year!  Yay team!
