28.

Last Thursday, the 10th, was my 28th birthday.  It also happened to be the 100th day of school, therefore it was jam-packed!  I started out the day by picking up Dunkin Donuts for my class.  We were having a cake later on in the day, but I wanted to do something to celebrate with them.  It was a hit, and I liked them also!  The day moved on with 100th day festivities and was over before I knew it.  Along with my class, I dressed like I was 100 for the celebration.  My kids told me that I "went to bed 27, and woke up 100!".  After school, David and I had PF Changs for dinner because we planned to go out in Chicago the next day for a Birthday/Valentines dinner.  Pretty exciting right?!?

The one thing that I did not expect on my birthday was getting homesick.  I can not honestly think of many times I have been "homesick" moving here.  Of course I have missed my friends and family and had some tough times, but have overall been okay.  Receiving notes and presents from friends and family back home did it to me though.  It reminded me of all that I have in Indiana, and sadly, that I have not built that up here yet.  Many people tell me it takes at least a year to start making good friends in a new area and it is completely true.  It is difficult!  Needless to say, the day was full of ups and downs.

Enough with the sappy...please enjoy pictures from the day!

It was one of the coldest days of the year...

Flowers from David!

My kids all dressed up.

My girls took this picture of me...they told me to look old!  Don't worry, my skirt looks shorter than it was.  Plus, you can't see my rolled down knee socks!

Cake my co-worker made for the kids.

Heaven.

David and I went to Cosi for dinner tonight.  It is similar to Panera and Paradise Bakery.  We had hummus and shared a pizza.  It was yummy, but the dessert was heavenly!  Why, you ask?  Because we made our own s'mores tableside!
This picture does not give it justice.  They bring you out a tray with enough supplies for two s'mores each and a small fire pit to "cook" your marshmallows.  I was in heaven!

In LOVE with breakfast.

I have a new current obsession...breakfast food!!  I have found that making breakfast for dinner is so easy and always ends up tasty!  I think I have figured out why I have been craving breakfast food so much...and no, I am not pregnant...it is because I never make actual breakfast in the morning!  My morning breakfast always consists of a "Kashi Go Lean" bar and frozen grapes if I am lucky.  Therefore, i rarely get to eat these tasty foods!  I have been so proud of myself cooking, I took the two pictures below before I ate.  It may not look too tasty to you...but I ate it all up!

(Please do not judge my amount of butter...!)

My Sister's Wedding

Last weekend, we went down to Orlando Florida for my sister's wedding.  She chose to have her wedding in Walt Disney World!  My family has several wonderful and fond memories from the resort.  That was one of the many reasons they held the wedding there.  It turned out to be a beautiful weekend with a lot of fun had!

David and I arrived late Thursday night (we both went to work that day) and checked into The Boardwalk Hotel were the wedding was being held.  We fell asleep quickly to rest up for the next day.

On Friday, I skipped running and we went straight to The Magic Kingdom instead!  We had a great time running around the park and went over to Epcot for the afternoon.  Around 5:00 we walked from Epcot back to our hotel to go to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

First stop...rice krispy treat!
Second stop...Space Mountain!

LOVE!

This stand has always been in The Magic Kingdom...however, I have not always been obsessed with pineapple juice!  So excited to drink some!

In Paris at Epcot

Saturday was wedding day!  We had to start getting ready early because the wedding was at noon.  I had a lot of fun participating in the festivities and the wedding was beautiful.  The reception was held in the hotel also, in a fun room that overlooked other hotels and Epcot.  We spent the late afternoon/evening at Hollywood Studios with our good friend Kathy who lives in Orlando.  After leaving the Studios, we went to a dueling piano bar with the rest of the wedding party.  We also played games on the boardwalk which was fun!

By the time Sunday rolled around, we were exhausted!  Our flight didn't leave until 8:45 that night...so we spent our day at The Magic Kingdom again.  It is my favorite park!  We were able to meet up with Elizabeth and Dan for a little while and had a great day.  We were sad that the quick trip had to come to an end, but I will be back in less than a month for the half marathon!

BLIZZARD!!

At the current moment, David and I are sitting in bed - both with our laptops - listening to a blizzard outside our window!!  We are predicted to get 1 to 2 FEET of snow and it will all be blowed around by 50 to 60 mph winds.  Awesome, right?!?  Actually, I am not in such a bad mood about it because it is, in a way, neat to experience a blizzard!  School has been cancelled for tomorrow already and we were let out early today to get home before it started.  I plan on spending my day catching up on my running (on the treadmill of course!), watching tv, and sleeping.  Thank you blizzard!

New Years Eve.

Better late than never...I would like to tell you about our New Years!!  (It is only one month later...)

We spent our New Years being a part of our great friends Jeni and Hank's wedding.  I can remember sitting with Jeni having numerous conversations about why we were both not engaged and how in the world could we get David and Hank to finally propose to us.  After some time, we were both happily engaged and planning our weddings.  It was nice to have someone that was going through the same things to talk to and help each other with wedding ideas.

The actual wedding was soo much fun.  I was a part of the wedding party which was a blast.  We got to spend a lot of time together all weekend!  It was such a great way to spend the New Years! Enjoy the pictures below (Courtesy of Miss Martz!)
