Vacations!

This past week I have put in a ton of hours at school.  Mainly because my family is on vacation and I have had nothing else to do...besides shop! : ) 

David went to Costa Rica with his friends and has been surrounded by beaches this week.

The rest of my family is in Walt Disney World planning my sister's January wedding.

You could say I am a little jealous, but I guess that is how it goes.  The up-side of things is that I have caught up on a lot of school work/organizing that needed to be done now that I am feeling at home in my school.  I also had a great visit with my wonderful mother-in-law!

I'm Back!

I feel like I haven't blogged for a long time!  Things have been busy and unfortunately bogging is the first thing to be put to the side!  I actually haven't been on the computer very much at home.  Do not worry though...I facebook stalk through my iphone!


I have a lot of updates to make but will start with this one.  My brother John has left for India!  He was staying with us for about a month and left last week.  I have not gotten a chance to talk to him yet, but my Mom has.  It sounds like it is a very crowded and busy place.  The food doesn't sound to appetizing either!  Below is a picture of him at his last big dinner in Chicago.  We went to Japonais, which is one of David's favorite sushi places.

Best Day.

I love the feeling you get when you have a day that you feel like you get so much accomplished.  Today has turned into one of those days!

We did not have school today because of Rosh Hashanah.  David went to Flossmoor to go to services and I stayed here because I have had a never ending to-do list since I started school.  I got a lot accomplished at school last night so I am ready for next week (we have a super busy weekend).  Then, today I have gotten several things off my to-do list!  I started my morning with my 6 mile long-run of the week and was super happy that was over before 10:00.  After that, I have cleaned the apartment, finally had the maintenance men fix some things, did some more school work, uploaded wedding pictures, went to Target, got my nails done, and planned out all my outfits for next week (I have OCD). : )  It is a great feeling knowing that all of these things are done and I can spend the rest of my day catching up with my DVR and reading a book that I keep putting off. 

Just thought I would share how good of a mood I am in!

Over the Weekend I...

I often ask my students to tell me what they did over the weekend.  I use the prompt "over the weekend I" to help start them off to work on various skills.  Today I thought I would blog about what I did over the weekend!

On Friday I stayed late at school to finish things up for the week.  The week had been super busy and I wanted to come in on Tuesday with everything in order.  After school, I came home to go on my run as part of my training program.  The weather was perfect and made me so excited for fall running.  After my run, my brother John made us fettuccine with vegetables...super yummy!

We left Saturday morning to make the 4 hour drive down to Indy.  When we got there we made a stop at the running store for another pair of shoes and some new gear.  We also stopped at a record store where I bought these stylish glasses...don't judge me!

Saturday night we went out with my Dad and Step-Mom for their anniversary at one of our favorite restaurants.  It was great!

On Sunday we went to Rib Fest...a Labor Day tradition!  I had corn, potato chips, and a little bit of David's ribs!  At night, we went to my Mom's house and she made us a great dinner on the grill...so much food!

Monday we made the drive back up to Chicago.  That part was not so fun!  Overall, it was a great weekend!

Cubs!

So, I have been asking since we moved here to go to a Cubs game.  David has refused because they have been playing so horribly.  However, this past week we went with some friends!  It was soo hot out and a weeknight so we did not stay long...I was happy to go for just awhile though!

In other news, I am beyond excited for the long weekend!  I have been putting in a lot of hours at school and am excited for a break.  In addition to having Monday off, we also have Thursday off for a Jewish holiday.  I am excited for the short week!
