Laundry.

As I am learning to take on my wife duties, I understand that involves doing laundry.  However, I was not prepared to do THIS much laundry!  Why do men not understand the concept of not throwing something in the hamper after only wearing it for 10 minutes??  The pictures below is one weeks worth of David's laundry folded.  What in the world??

Obsessed.

If you know me well, you know I am a dessert fanatic with s'mores being my absolute fav.  I have been finding a lot of s'mores products lately which has not helped my obsession.  Currently, the following three products have become a staple in my grocery cart.  If you have not had any of these yet...seriously check them out!!

The Zoo.

Today I finally got my wish of visiting the zoo!  David and I were going to take my classroom frogs to school, but we decided the classroom was too hot for them and we should wait.  Therefore, we ended up going to The Brookfield Zoo!  It was my last day before I officially started school and David let me do something I wanted.  If you know David well, you know that the zoo isn't up his alley!  My favorite part was the dolphin show.

Although I enjoyed the visit, I thought the Indy Zoo is nicer.  I am excited to eventually visit The Lincoln Park Zoo in the city!

Indy!

Last weekend we went home to Indy to pick up my classroom items.  On our trip there, we got to see my Dad and Margaret and go to the state fair!  Below you will find pictures of David's special fair food...a Krispy Kreme burger!  I couldn't stomach a bite...

The Stand

Before the first bite...

He liked it!

Apart from the fair, it was nice being home for the weekend.  Although, we did have a very long day on Sunday of packing up a U-Haul and driving it 4.5 hours to David's office.  Luckily we had help!  I am thankful that my classroom is now put together and we do not have any plans to move anything in the near future!

Training!

This week started my official training for my third half marathon!  It has been hard to keep up with running this summer because of all the moving and changes.  I am excited to have a reason to force myself to run everyday!  I will be running the Monumental Half Marathon in Indianapolis on November 6th.  Below are pictures from my past two half marathons!

Other than training, I have been BUSY BUSY getting ready for school!  My first official day is Monday the 23rd...lots to do till then!

Durbin.

Today was the first day back from HSE Schools.  It made me sad to know that everyone was at school and I was not!  I worked at Durbin Elementary from 2005 - 2010 and loved it.  I worked with terrific co-workers and had the pleasure of meeting many many wonderful kiddos!  I am sad that I no longer get to watch my kids grow up through the years! : (

To reminiscence, I went through some of my old pictures of my classroom (which I turned into a little home-away-from-home).  Below you will find some!

These pictures make me sad!!  However, I am excited to start my new job.  We still have two weeks until it begins though!

John Boy

Today, my brother John is flying back home from Spain.  He has been there since April on a consulting job for his company, UOP.  He is based in Chicago and will be staying with us for a few weeks until he is sent to his next job.  He believes that will be in Kochi, India...a long way from home!  David and I will love having him with us for the time being.  He has been without family for several months!  We are probably the most excited to have him cook for us though...but shhh don't tell him that!

Miss Martz!

This past weekend Miss Martz came to visit!  We became good friends working together at Durbin, and I am glad she could make it out here before school started!

While she was here, we were on a movie kick.  We saw several movies!  We also did some shopping and went downtown to Navy Pier.  While downtown, we just had to visit Sprinkles again for some more cupcakes.

We had a great weekend, I loved having her here!

Lauren and David decided to go on a virtual reality ride.  I waited outside!

We were there when they had a Lunchables/Kraft Mac and Cheese event going on.  We tried new Mac and Cheese that was sooo good!
